Grown for it’s spicy hot root, used in oriental cooking and medicine. Inflorescence is small yellow – burgundy axis, blooming basal and intermittently. Height 3′ to 4′. Ginger root is red skinned and nobby, with a pinkish white flesh, eaten raw or cooked. Many cultures throughout the world use galanga to spice up many dishes.
