A tropical to subtropical evergreen shrub native to the Caribbean and Central America, in warm temperate to tropical climates they are grown as ornamentals for their attractive bright pink powder puff appearance. Calliandras grow in a wide range of soils but need adequate water to flower well, blooming season can last for many months throughout the season.

Height 3′ to 8′. Can be pruned to shape and height.
