Cerbera Odollam Pong-Pong

A lovely tree used extensively for planting along roadsides and marshy areas. When in bloom they produce beautiful white flowers with yellow bases and are highly perfumed. They are known for unusual seed pods that form after flowering, which are round and covered with a fibrous shell, allowing them to float. Not a fussy tree, but prefers a damp sandy soil, riverbed , mangrove type soil. Height 15’-20’ Zone 8 and higher . A wonderful small tree that can be pruned to shape and height. Can be container grown with ease!
