Not a true ginger, and not a Hawaiian native, but it indeed has beautiful blue to purple flowers! It looks like a ginger with arching stems with deep green leaves. Each branch becomes a clustered vibrant violet blue flower with a white center and yellow eye. Height 4′ to 5′. Blooms late summer for months, light shade. Root hardy. Uncommon and incredible!
