Heliconia Rostrata

Also known as the Hanging Lobster Claw or False Bird of Paradise.  Native to El Salvador, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, and Ecuador, and naturalized in Puerto Rico.  National flower for the country of Bolivia.   Hardy in the United States to zone 10-13.  Can grow up to 15 feet tall.  Beautiful bright red and yellow blooms, full sun to part shade, keep soil moist.
