Widely cultivated throughout Central America, blooms may appear from Jan.- Sept. Bracts are somewhat variable, bright red areas cover most of the cheek, surrounded by pale green along the lip keel and tip, yellow areas at the base. Height 5′ to 15′, long blooming season.s
