Kei Apple Dovyalis Caffra

A subtropical shrub or small tree frequently planted as tall hedges in Australia,California and mediterranean temperate countries,capable of surviving temperatures 20F. The plants contain prominent spikes on the branches which could be a hazard if not careful, very drought and salt tolerant, after flowering they produce 1-1/2″ bright yellow/ light orange fruits with an acidic pleasantly flavored taste, very juicy and resembling small flattened apricots. Fruiting is heavy and intense.
